Side Scan Sonar

Side scan sonar (SSS) is a technique ubiquitous across shallow marine geophysical surveys. The technique is used for a range of purposes such as seabed object detection, habitat mapping and UXO. A range of frequencies can be used which allow the technique to be utilised as a large scale reconnaissance tool through to the completion of high definition, small scale object characterisation surveys.
